Blogs and a Crazy Old Guy

Well this is an item that doesn't really deal with MMA but we think its important. Since we are starting up a blog here we felt it was important to close ranks and protect our fellow bloggers at Deadspin.com. If anyone watches Costas Now (I am not judging) you may of seen this if not here's the link http://deadspin.com/385770/bissinger-vs-leitch. Basically Buzz Bissenger (old media guy) freaks out about the personal smut on blogs and how they are destroying society. He then proceeds to curse and yell at a blogger (real mature and great rhetoric).

After watching this it got us thinking here at the Watch. We realize that Bob Costas and other old media guys probablly don't understand nor like MMA. But because they don't get MMA they are unaware of our sprawling internet community on such sites as mmmajunkie.com, mmaweekly.com and sherdog.com and how successful it has helped make the sport. MMA shows the possibilities of the internet/blogging and its ability to bring fans together to argue over such great things as PRIDE vs UFC (YEA!). So let's hope that the dinosaurs like Buzz don't go extinct but instead join us zombie bloggers on the internet.
