The Announcement is so Earth shattering!!!

Actually not at all. In fact Lorenzo Fertitta resigned his position with highly successful Station Casinos to take up a more prominent role in Zuffa. There are some interesting rumors that the Fertitta's brothers were unhappy with certain directions the UFC was taken under Dana White's stewardship, perhaps the constant swearing. These rumors fueled speculation about Zuffa selling the UFC.

This doesn't seem the case but Lorenzo Fertitta did say this in a recent interview with Kevin Iole, "The problem, if there is a problem, is that the business has gotten so successful, it’s requiring more time, focus and attention."

Dana's reaction can be summed up as excited and defensive "Everyone has doubts, right? Well, when you see Lorenzo Fertitta, a guy who was the No. 2-highest paid casino executive in Las Vegas, quit that job to come to work full-time for the UFC...The Internet may not consider this huge news, but what the people on the Internet think is huge and what I think is huge are two different things."

I am glad he thinks the Internet has its own thoughts. Yes this is significant news but not HUGE!
