Kim Couture: Beaten Down

No offense to Mrs. Couture but this was bad. Not an embarrassment as much as a 'wholly shit why did I sign up for this' moment. Let this fight be a lesson to anyone who spends some time in the gym (of either sex) and thinks they can fight in MMA.

Kim Couture, new wife of Randy Couture and martial arts hobbyist. She decided after two amateur fights to go professional and had her jaw broken. Kudos to her for finishing the fight, especially since it was three, five minute rounds as oppose to the normal three, three minute rounds for women. But she still lost handily. At the least though it legitimizes women as tough competitors in the male dominated MMA community.

Makes you wonder though why Randy didn't stop this fight in between rounds when he noticed that her bottom teeth were at different heights. Or that the cut man wasn't like 'Holy shit! I need a medic!' This is the kind of unsafe stupid shit that can get MMA into trouble. I hope the Nevada State Athletic Commission takes a step back and seriously looks over their decisions in sanctioning this bout. And no its not because they are women it is because a fighter [Kim Couture] did not have the pedigree to fight a professional [Kim Rose Banner]. The result an ugly jaw break.
