Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Toys!? Seriously! Toys!?

In approximately 30 minutes Dana White and Brock Lesnar will go on CNBC and announce a new deal with toy company JAKKS Pacific. Not quite the big news everyone was expecting today so its safe to assume the MMA Rapture will be announced later. JAKKS has a licensing agreement with the WWE so this will probably feed the rumors that Vince McMahon will be buying a minority share in the UFC.

With the UFC video game slated for release during the spring quarter of 2009 and now the inevitable toy line it appears that the MMA industry just keeps growing. While a good sign of the growth in the industry are action figures really going to sell to MMA fans, fans who are mostly males between the ages of 18-35.

In the past six months the UFC has made deals with two major sponsors, Harley-Davidson and Bud Light (Anheuser Bush). Coupled with the video game and now toy line plus a MMA Live show on ESPN the market just keeps expanding. Now the UFC just needs a network TV deal.
