TUF-7 Finale Previews (Pot vs. Beer)

Main Event: Kendall Grove (8-5, 3-2 UFC) vs. Evan Tanner (32-7, 11-5 UFC)

Both of these fighters are unknown quantities. Besides Kendall's love of marijuana or Evan's two year drunken tour of beer varieties there are several reasons why this fight is so hard to pick. Besides the, which is more debilitating pot or beer? story line there are other issues involved. Grove was a winner of the Ultimate Fighter 3 and looked to be a great middleweight prospect. Then he lost two fights in a row, the last one being by a brutal KO early in the first round.

Recent troubles aren't unique to Grove. Tanner was also recently knocked out by Yushin Okami, but that was Tanner's first fight in two years, two years spent touring the bottom of a bottle. Tanner recently said that he thought the loser would be out of the UFC. With that type of pressure plus being the main event who knows what quality of fight will occur. Perhaps they will be tentative or all out but there is no way to really tell with all the mind altering chemicals. Tanner is at -200 while Grove is at +160. Tanner wins by TKO in round 2.
