UFC 85 Preview: Marcus Davis vs. Mike Swick

Marcus Davis (14-3, 6-1 UFC) vs. Mike Swick (11-2, 6-1 UFC)

This will be fight of the night (at least for the main card). Mike 'Quick' Swick has dropped from middleweight to welterweight and gets a real test in Marcus 'the Irish Hand Grenade' Davis who is on a six fight win streak. Davis is a former boxer and despite some early trouble adjusting to MMA has been stellar in the UFC. Davis has also become a staple of most British fightcards (strange because I thought the Brits don't get along with the Irish).

While Swick is a bigger fighter he has been tentative in his past three fights (all have gone to decision) but his comfort zone is still standing up. Both fighters have power and solid chins so it is tough to identify who has the advantage. Vegas has the fight as a wash with both fighters odds being negative. That being the case its best to pick with your gut, or who has the better nickname. Thus 'Irish Hand Grenade' by explosion or KO in the second round.
