UFC to Affliction 'I must break you!'

Affliction's Banned fight card on July 19th may have more competition than simple lack of exposure. It is rumored that the UFC is going to put on a live and free show on Spike the same night. In order to combat the big names that Affliction has the UFC will not be able to simply put on a status-quo fight night. No they would need a big name, oh like Wanderlei Silva. That's right Wanderlei Silva may fight Brandon Vera (meaning Vera will move down to 205lbs?) as the main event.
While similar rumors abounded that the UFC and Spike would produce and event to counter EliteXC-CBS Saturday fight night, nothing came to fruition.
The question remains will this actually occur. A lot of UFC fighters are already scheduled to fight at other PPV events. On top of that mmajunkie.com is reporting that to put on speciality event would probably cost the UFC $2-5 million dollars in order to rearrange Spike's programming schedule (sponsors need to be paid off as well as a litany of other issues).
If the UFC were to undertake such an ambitious event the short term fiscal rewards may be few, but the long term payout may be significant. Affliction is hoping for (optimistically) 250,000 PPV buys if the UFC can cut into that market significantly Affliction's fight promotion may be financially crippled after one event.
