James Irvin tests positive for narcotic painkillers

James Irvin tested positive for two banned substances Methadone and Oxymorphone. Both are narcotic painkillers. The reason these painkillers are banned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, is because they are both opiates (hence narcotic). Basically these drugs are medicinal versions of opium or heroine used for killing pain. Methadone is also used as a supplement in rehab treatments for recovering heroine addicts. The NSAC probably has these type of drugs banned due to the potential of addictive abuse, just ask Rush Limbaigh.
Irvin most likely took these due to his broken foot which he was still recovering from. Or to help him in the fight, not really sure how that would work though. No wonder he thought he could take 3 to 1 punches from Anderson Silva, the guy probably couldn't feel a damn thing.
No word on his hearing date, but if he produces a legitimate medical prescription nothing should happen.
