One Hundred Thousand Buys!

More and more information keeps coming out about what degree of financial success was Affliction: Banned. First there is news that 25% of the tickets sold were actually bought by Affliction to use for VIP's and friends. Perhaps this is part of building up sponsorship deals, I am thinking of Randy Quaid in Days of Thunder.

But there is also some news about how many PPV buys occurred. Initially we thought they would only have to have 30,000 PPV to cover the fighters salaries but since they bought 25% of the tickets ($500,000) they will need closer to 45,000 buys. Tom Atencio, the VP of Affliction Entertainment, claims that the PPV buys will be over 100,000. So that is good news for Affliction.
