UFC 86 Preview: Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Lytle

Josh Koscheck (10-2, 8-2 UFC) vs. Chris Lytle (25-15-5, 4-7 UFC)

Poor Chris Lytle. He seems to be the guy the UFC throws all their top welterweight talent at. Lytle is a journeyman fighter who appeared on TUF 4 'The Comeback’ trying to get a welterweight title shot. He lost a split decision to Matt Serra in the finale. Serra got the title shot and defeated George St. Pierre launching him to the top of the MMA world. Lytle got relegated down to gatekeepers.

Now the UFC has decided match Lytle up against Josh Koscheck a top-5 welterweight and likely in line for a title shot soon (most likely next if Jon Fitch wins). Koscheck’s wrestling is top notch and easily superior to Lytle’s wrestling. The fight will most likely resemble the Hughes-Lytle match where Hughes easily outwrestled Lytle for three round decision victory. But if Koscheck decides to try and work his stand up Lytle will have a punchers chance

Pick: Josh Koscheck TKO
