UFC to buy IFL

A senior producer of the HDNet’s Inside MMA told mmapayout.com that the UFC is looking to buy the IFL. The IFL is bankrupt and I think there publicly traded shares were at the value of a penny not too long ago. Smart move by the UFC, it will be cheap to buy and they get first dibs on what they want. Considering they have already signed a large quantity of their talent they may be simply trying to get the last few contracts of people they don’t want to pay that much.

I am most interested in how this affects Ben Rothwell. If he defeats Andrei Arlovski this weekend he will be on the UFC’s short list to keep in the fold.

If you are counting Zuffa and the UFC now has bought out the WEC(they still run), PRIDE and soon to be the IFL. Leaving only EliteXC, Strikeforce, Andrenaline and Affliction as the only U.S. competitors. If there is any doubt at all make not mistake Zuffa is still the top dog.
