Couture Compromises

Randy Couture is offering a compromise to the UFC and Zuffa over the parties legal troubles (and it involves a puppy exchange!). Couture is willing to fight in the UFC again if it is only once and after that fight he is free of his obligations.
Randy is most likely feeling his age. Now 45 years old his time to fight becomes more limited every day. The super fight between him and Fedor seems more and more like an impossibility unless a resolution occurs soon. Randy probably also realized that there is no way he is going to get out of his contract until the next presidential election.
Will the compromise work? Probably not. Zuffa and the UFC have no real reason to compromise. By keeping the dispute alive they hurt their competitors from taking a valuable commodity (Randy Couture). It is not like the UFC needs Randy the way that Affliction needs Fedor or EliteXC needs Kimbo.
Only way this will work is if Dana White looks into his heart and decides to help out an old friend and leave on equal terms. That has a snowball chance in hell of occurring.
