Or at the very least he doesn't really care to fight for them. In a recent interview with
FIGHT! magazine this little tidbit came out,
"The truth is, I don't really care if I fight in the UFC or somewhere else," Huerta says. The fighter says he understands that Zuffa has to keep an eye on the bottom line, but he wants to work, "For a company that is as loyal to me as I am to them."
Apparently people are pissed at Huerta for speaking his mind. I don't blame him, especially when it came out that he only gets paid
fifty dollars for UFC media appearances. Incidentally fifty dollars is how much it cost Huerta for a s
quare inch of his arm tattoo. Think about the time lost training and the cost of travel and you can understand how it is kind of ridiculous. Huerta also brings up ridiculous contract situations, think Keith Jardine. The guy gets paid ten thousand to show and ten thousand to win, but the guys he is fighting are all making six figures. The dude beat Chuck Liddell and knocked out current champ Forrest Griffin.
I hope Roger Huerta starts a union.
