Where did all the money go?

Mixed Martial Arts is the fastest growing sport so why not get into the business. I'll tell you why not, its because everyone is losing money except the UFC. Zuffa and the UFC have the brand and everyone is playing catchup. The IFL and Bodog folded. Pride is gone, Dream is hemorrhaging money. The jury is still out on Affliction's first show but besides that they have a long way to go.

Now there comes news that EliteXC is canceling two events, and their parent company ProElite SEC filing is looking pretty poor. While ProElite has one thing that the UFC doesn't have, a network deal, this is troubling news. The make or break deal for them will be their upcoming October show. A lot depends on what kind of ratings they get to satisfy advertisers and get some more capital.

Essentially the longer these upstarts are in the game the worse the financial news is for them.
