UFC 88 Preview: Karo Parisyan vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida

Karo Parisyan (18-5, 9-3 UFC) vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida (10-2, 1-0 UFC)

It is no secret that Karo Parisyan is an easy target to mock. Karo has never really censored his mouth which makes him an entertaining guy to write about. But on the flip side it makes him annoying as hell too. Basically he is the Chad Johnson of the UFC.

And like Chad Johnson Karo is good, not GSP great but good. The problem for Karo has been untimely losses to Diego Sanchez and Thiago Alves plus an injury that prevented his title shot against Matt Hughes way back in the day. With this fight Karo will once again try to build his resume to get to the top of the welterweight division.

Yoshida is a UFC newcomer and defeated Jon Koppenhaver (the guy who changed his name to Warmachine) in his UFC debut. Yoshida hasn't loss since 2005 and both of his losses came via decisions.

While the odds (-260 Parisyan to +200 Yoshida) and matchup appear to favor Karo I don't believe the fight will be quite so easy. I think Karo will be gun shy due to being recently KO'd.

Pick: Karo Parisyan via decision, in an extremely slow fight.
