WEC Middleweights and Light Heavyweights R.I.P

It came, finally. The middleweight and light heavyweight divisions of the UFC's little brother the WEC are now dead. Well, mostly dead because current middleweight champion, Paulo Filho, is still slated to defend his WEC title in November against Chael Sonnen.

But the rest of them are dead, fin, gone, kaput, finnito, , swimming with the fishes, terminated with extreme prejudice and otherwise shit out of luck.

Good news though for the former and current light heavyweight champion. Brian Stann and Steve Cantwell. These two will fight at UFC Fight Night 16 "Fights for the Troops". This will be the third time they have fought making them the equivalent of the Matrix trilogy, ok and exciting but no Star Wars (the originals).
