Around SBN: Clippers Need To Realize That Spurs Are The Anti-Grizzlies

What does the Affliction and EliteXC collaboration mean?

Last week it was announced that Affliction would be co-promoting EliteXC's latest edition of Saturday Night Fights on CBS this Saturday. With that announcement also came the news that Andrei Arlovski and Roy Nelson would fight on the card . While there has been plenty of analysis no one has answered several questions of mine and clearly the upstart promotions need to check with me before they go and do something (who do you think stripped K.J. Noons of his title?).

Did Affliction pay a large sum of money to feature their fighters upon EliteXC and CBS or visa versa? Are EliteXC and Affliction going to share revenue and risk? Was this deal helped along by CBS or does it have their blessing? Is their a possible merger on the horizon? These are some pretty important issues that seem to be glossed over.

Essentially I want to know how this deal went down and what are the specifics. Is Affliction simply trying to get an October event of some sort since their October 11th show seems dead now. Did Gary Shaw and EliteXC call up Tom Atencio of Affliction and ask him to add a fight?

My last question is, if this show bombs does that mean EliteXC and Affliction go under. Or does CBS honor the last fight on the contract as an Affliction show.
