Preview: Andrei Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson

For ProElite and EliteXC tomorrow night is their make or break debate. Will the ratings be like they were in May, or will it fall flat like the second show. Is the star power of Gina Carano and Kimbo Slice enough to save EliteXC. Or will CBS dump them with other bad fall television shows.

Andrei Arlovski (13-5, 0-0 EXC) vs. Roy Nelson (13-2, 0-0 EXC)

Somehow Affliction got on the EliteXC card, and still no one has explained to me how the financials of this deal are going down.

But don’t focus on money right now, even if the financial sector is melting faster than an Alaskan glacier. Focus instead on the heavyweight fight between Andrei Arlovksi and Roy Nelson.

Arlovksi is clearly the better fighter and should win this fight (his odds are -500 right now). Besides having the better pedigree of a former UFC heavyweight champion and a really hot girlfriend stolen by the gargantuan sea otter that is Tim Sylvia, the guy is a top five heavyweight. Besides he wears fangs when he fights, FANGS!

Roy Nelson looks like he is permantly doing the truffle shuffle. That appearance is quite deceiving because he is actually quite light on his feet and a solid fighter. For instance he won the now bankrupt IFL heavyweight Grand Prix. Think of him like a nose tackle, such as Casey Hampton. Really fat but surprisingly quick, nimble and really powerful.

The power of the truffle shuffle cannot overcome the power of fangs. Arlovski wins.
