State of UFC lightweights

Is the UFC lightweight division as stacked as we are led to believe? The answer is both yes and no. The division is stacked in the sense that there is a ton of depth that put on interesting and extremely entertaining fights. But it is not stacked in the sense that the division contains eight of the top–ten lightweights in the world. The UFC’s welterweight and light-heavyweight divisions are stacked. Each respectively containa nine and ten of the top-ten fighters at those weight classes. For the lightweight division the UFC contains only three of the top-ten. True the UFC does have B.J. Penn the consensus number one lightweight. But after that UFC fighters are ranked number six and seven. Thus the UFC lightweight division is not stacked but simply entertaining.
