Dana White says, 'UFC would've been banned" for Fight Night

It is no secret that UFC Fight for the Troops was a proverbial blood bath. While the Octagon wasn't stained red with hemoglobin there were enough fractured body parts and medevacs to last for a long time. Half of the fighters that night went to the hospital, that is a pretty insane casualty rate for a sporting event let a lone a war.

Corey Hill, the fighter whose shin became a geometry experiment, is now receiving donations to help him through his recovery. The guy has a wife and three kids, plus he will be out for 12-18 months so it will be a while.

Maggie Hendricks of Yahoo sports pointed out that the UFC did no follow up coverage on the injuries. Most sporting events have the obligatory 'he is alright' moment. The UFC didn't even bother, instead glossing over the injuries as if they didn't even happen. There were no injury updates as well.

The gore of the evening was not lost on Dana White. He said this after the night, "Had this fight happened 7 years ago, we probably wouldn't have been legalized."

Don't worry Dana that prophesy may be more true than you know. Besides the battle for legalization in New York, there is still a fight north of the border for legalization in Ontario (for an event in Toronto). Fightlinker.com is reporting that, that situation has gone from bad to worse.
