Girffin out indefinitely, Nogueira infected

UFC 92 has come and gone but there is still some news to cover. Forrest Griffin will be sidelined until June 27th with a broken hand. The injury was sustained during his fight with Rashad Evans. The hand injury will most likely cause Griffin to be shelved for past the date. The possible Jackson rematch or fight with Chuck Liddell appear out of reach.
"Nogueira had some other problems too going into [UFC 92]. Nogueira had just gotten over a Staph infection and he had some other problems but when they fought in PRIDE, PRIDE put on such freak shows, guys fighting out of their weight class, things like that. That’s why I’m so against it. That’s how you ruin guys early. If you’re a professional athlete, time is not good to you. Time catches us all."
I am not sure what Pride has to do with Staph infections. Actually I am pretty sure they have absolutely nothing to do with the weight class of who you fight. And before Dana White piles on Pride for having fighters from different weight classes fight each other I seem to remember the UFC having Anderson Silva move up in weight to counter program EliteXC. Or the St. Pierre-Penn fight that is approaching. How about the oft rumored Anderson Silva Chuck Liddell fight.
I understand White's point that some of the former Pride fighters may have shortened careers, but seriously you can't blame a Staph infection on that.
