Dana White does Q&A sessions for fans before fight events, that is why there is usually an avalanech of news and rumors before events. Continuing on that note,
fiveouncesofpain.com is reporting that Thales Leites is a possible opponent for Anderson Silva for a fight that would take place around February.
Leites is on a five fight win streak, however he defeated Nate Marquardt, by far the most talented fighter Leites has faced, due to Nate's inability to
follow the rules. While White did allude to the existence of a 'list' of possible fighters it seems strange that Yushin Okami has all but disappeared from title discussion. Okami is fighting on the undercard of UFC 92, not exactly the way to foreshadow a future title shot. It Seems strange considering Okami holds a past victory over Silva (by disqualification), and was
in line to face Silva for the middleweight title, until Okami withdrew due to
injury.
I could envision the UFC being afraid that an Okami-Silva title match would not garner a lot of attention (Silva has been a medium PPV draw) but considering that Silva is
afraid of Asians this fight could be great. Besides it is not like Leites-Silva would be a big PPV draw anyways.
