WEC 37 Preview: Champ Miguel Torres vs. Manny Tapia

Champion Miguel Torres (34-1) vs. Manny Tapia (10-0-1)
Many consider Urijah Faber to be the poster boy of the WEC. While Urijah can distract us with his California surfer boy looks and funny name, it is Miguel Torres that should receive lions share of attention (especially since Faber just lost). Torres' impressive record of thirty four wins with one loss is a tremendous anomaly in a sport where any give night one can lose.
Any fight that Torres is in will be action packed. There is never a moment of rest with constant activity by both Torres and his opponent. While the lighter fighters may not have the knock out power of the heavy boys they make up for it with great style and entertainment. Torres experience and skill set makes him the natural favorite tonight, and the odds are currently -700 in his favor.
Tapia's style is one where he always pushes forward into the action. He often ends fights with submissions. But who knows how he will handle Torres' grappling skills. Tapia does have the advantage of girth. While both are fighting at 135lbs. Torres is lanky and tall giving him that extra reach, but Tapia is compact which will help him control Torres if in the dominant position on the ground.
Miguel 'Angel' Torres wins this fight in the third round via TKO.
