Freddie Roach doesn't understand armbars

Freddie Roach is at it again. The renowned boxing trainer, who is currently training Andre Arlovksi had this to say about Fedor Emelianenko,
"As far as his stand up game, we’ll kill him. If we can keep the fight standing up, if [Fedor Emelianenko] chooses to fight us like a man, we’ll dominate him...Just be smart with it. Use your angles when they’re necessary, but after you land a combination, because after you land a combination with Fedor, he’s going to throw back. That’s his instinct. He throws one punch after the other. He’s very predictable. He makes the same moves every time. He’s very common. His boxing game is weak...I think we’re going to knock him out."
"He looks pretty effective on the ground from what I can see. He’s really good at the armbar, I guess it’s called. How he gets those guys in the position for an armbar is pretty clever."
While I trust Roach's opinion when it comes to his boxing analysis, I do not trust his opinion when it comes to MMA. The differences between striking are stark (check out the Apples and Oranges section that highlights the differences) and this is just an arrogant trainer thinking that showing an MMA fighter some combinations will make him indestructible.
However there is a blatantly obvious counter example to Roach's mythos. Remember when Diego Sanchez was training with Oscar De La Hoya before UFC 69? That didn't work out so well considering Sanchez lost his fight to Koscheck who simply outclassed him by not engaging him in a boxing match!
