UFC Primetime is fantastic!

The UFC clearly got their money's worth with UFC Primetime. The quality of the show is impeccable, specifically the editing, cinematography and sound track. I feel like I am watching a show directed by some weird combination of Paul Thomas AndersonDanny Boyle and David Fincher

Some quick thoughts on this week's episode:

-George St. Pierre getting a haircut, kind of weird.

- Is it just me or is B.J.'s left cauliflower ear starting to look a little James Thompson-y?

- A big difference between Penn and St. Pierre is family. Penn's story line is grounded in family with his parents providing their own commentary. Where as St. Pierre's family is missing the whole time.

- Love the appearance of Team Jackson

- Is there a better location to shoot then Hawaii? There are lush jungles, blue water everywhere, beaches, volcanos, no wonder they film Lost there.

Here is an interpretive play of the UFC Primetime crew talking to B.J. Penn about shooting locations.

Crew: Hey B.J. we need a cool shot and a bloodied pit bull isn't going to do it this time. Any ideas?

Penn: You could film me eating a burrito

Crew: Well I don't think that will do it. Any cool locations around here?

Penn: Oh! There is this great burrito shop we could go to.

Crew: Errr....I already said I don't think that will work.

Penn: You don't like burritos?

Crew: Fuck it, there's a volcano around here right? Let's have B.J run around near it.

Penn: Is there burrito shop there?

Crew: Yes B.J. there will be burritos.

I liked this episode a lot.

The soundtrack is really done well. I liked the GSP haircut part as it plays to the GSP is pretty thing. I have always thought that GSP is too good looking to be the bad ass fighter that he is. I also noticed that Penn is keeping his pet mouse in his left ear. The appearance of members of team Jackson was very cool. Cerrone seemed to get the most screen time and I imagine that has something to do with his title fight this wekend. Poor Keith Jardine won’t get a shot at the LHW title until Evans is beat. All in all it was a good show.
