No Motorcycle Ice Racing Tonight

When the WEC postponed WEC 43 due to an injury to main event fighter Ben Henderson many Ohio MMA fans held out hope that the promotion would reschedule the event for Youngstown, Ohio. Alas the WEC moved WEC 43 to October 10th in San Antonio, Texas.
During the immediate aftermath there was a great deal of speculation as to the WEC's true motivation for postponing the card and moving it to Texas. Could it be the recent dispute between Versus and DirecTV or was it due to poor ticket sales? The WEC insisted that ticket sales were strong but then why move the card to San Antonio?
The WEC insisted that it was due to the Covelli Centre being booked on October 10th for a motorcycle ice racing event. This revelation created more questions as the official schedule for the Covelli Centre did not have an event scheduled for the tenth nor were tickets available on Ticketmaster.
There were even more questions surrounding the ice racing event, which WKR previously detailed,
WKR contacted the Covelli Centre and was told that the date was booked by Extreme International Ice Racing and that tickets were not yet available. WKR visited their website and found no schedule for the fall of 2009. Also WKR attempted to contact Extreme International Ice Racing through email yet our emails were rejected by the host domain.
Extreme International Ice Racing is partnered with American Motorcyclist Association. Their official website also doesn't have a date for an ice racing event in Ohio in October.
The Savage Science also looked into this and found that on the Ice Motorcycle Racing Sanctioning body website the official season doesn't begin until November
WKR previously contacted the AMA in an attempt to discover more information about the reported event.
On the XIIR [Extreme International Ice Racing] website they state that they are sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association. WKR contacted the AMA and were informed that "They [XIIR] have not yet sanctioned any future events with AMA."
WKR has attempted to contact the XIIR again through email but have received no response.
Well the mystery is over.
Extreme International Ice Racing did indeed have the Covelli Centre booked for October 10th but that event has been canceled. WKR is still attempting to get in contact with Extreme International Ice Racing to discover the reason why the event was canceled.

This has to be a double blow for the state of Ohio. No World Extreme Cagefighting and no Motorcycle Ice Racing.
What is a Buckeye to do on a Saturday night?
