No WEC Flyweights for the Moment

Some more WEC news this morning, and no, it doesn't have to do with judging or ties.

Remember when the WEC announced a flyweight division, the division that we are still waiting to materialize.

According to matchmaker Sean Shelby the WEC has completely hit the the breaks on the flyweight division,

"When I first came in earlier this year, my goal was to build up the divisions we already had," Shelby said. "We have built quality depth into 135 and 145, and I am working on 155 now. With the number of fights we are doing now, 125 is just not a viable division for us at this moment."

This is some refreshing honesty. If the WEC can only maintain three divisions with their current schedule then kudos to them for not over reaching.

Still we can look forward 2010 when the WEC plans on revealing their new flyweight division.
