Rampage Wants You to Know he is Not a Bad Coach
Team Rampage is 0-5 and appears to be on the verge of getting swept out of the competition, a first in the history of The Ultimate Fighter. But it's all good.
Right Rampage?
The only reason I'm blogging this is that I want everyone to know what's really up ... The show is for entertainment and it could be edited in many different ways, which doesn't always tell the true story ... My team and I had great chemistry and we got along great. Rashad and his team didn't even like each other ... Rashad acts so fake and cocky and he wants to act like he cares more about my fighter than I do and brag about how he's a better coach than I am. But I tried to explain to him that I'm not a coach and I won't be coaching after my fighting career, like he might ... Rashad thought the show was about him, about how good of a coach he could be and how fake he could be ... But I knew what it was all about. The show is called the Ultimate Fighter, not the Ultimate Coach."
Rampage posted this on his website and on a certain level he is right. The Ultimate Fighter is far from an ideal locale to train and build up a fighter. But Jackson is ultimately wrong. It is up to the coach to put his fighters in the best position to win and Jackson hasn't done that. From picking a poor fight to selecting a weak team Rampage hasn't done his team any favors.
Now Rampage will have to deal with the possibility of being branded the worst coach in TUF history.

He’s not the first person to complain about the way the show’s edited to get people to see what Spike and the UFC want them to see so I imagine there’s a lot of truth to that, but at the same time he appears to have been clueless when he picked fighters and then the match ups he picked for the first 2 fights.
All the editing in the world can change the fact he made a few really bad decisions.
Agreed
I mean, the reality show format clearly looks for storylines and Rampage being a shitty coach is SUCH an obvious storyline they can’t not do it. I am curious to see if they played it up a lil more due to his sudden UFC divorce.
But yeah, as I said in the post, Rampage hasn’t done his team any favors in the fight and team selection, which is the most important role for a TUF coach

Hasn’t Rampage realized his success as an actor is correlated with his likeabilty, which is suffering even more this season than on season 7.
I’m waiting for him to bring in Ken Shamrock’s chicken and steak guy from season 3.
not necessarily
Rampage’s acting brand is more about his bad assness not really if people like him

I think people may be more forgiving with actors who are jackasses in real life, because they happen to be fans of their acting. Unfortunately, Rampage doesn’t get this luxury, because he’s never had a meaty role in a movie like the one he has in the A-team. So people have no point of reference when it comes to his actual acting abilities, just what they see on TV. They have to decide if they want to see the film and support him based off sheer curiosity or maybe if they were already fans of his they would go see the movie regardless. I personally think he’s done himself a diservice acting the way he has on TUF 10 thus far, and it could be detrimenal to his marketability as an actor, especially since he no longer has the UFC marketing muscle behind him.
