Sean Salmon Suspended by the Ohio Athletic Commission
Sean Salmon has been suspended for a year and fined $2,500 for comments made in a column earlier this fall.
In said column, Sean Salmon implied that he allowed his opponent to submit him, which created the impression that Salmon "threw the fight." The Ohio Athletic Commission promised they would look into the matter and they have now rendered their verdict.
MMA Junkie has more of the details,
A four-person commission ultimately penalized Salmon for "not fighting to the best of his ability" and "conduct detrimental to the sport," Ohio Athletic Commission executive director Bernie Profato told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
The suspension is retroactive and ends June 6, 2010.
For Salmon this a serious blow to his legacy as a former UFC fighter and MMA coach in central Ohio.
In the immediate aftermath of the controversial column Salmon attempted to clarify his comments, saying that he failed to proofread his piece adequately and that his statements about 'giving his arm' were meant to be seen as a mental mistake by Salmon as oppose to a purposeful decision.

Good thing this came out when it did
Otherwise I believe Salmon was going to write a column about how he “gave his head” to Rashad Evans and Jorge Santiago.

So I guess he’ll be earning a paycheck outside of the U.S. for awhile.
Honestly you know shit like this goes on, but he just happened to be the one guy dumb enough to admit it publicly and post it on the internet. Not too bright.
