Well That was Fast: Lesnar vs. Carwin Rescheduled for Jan. 2

Photo

According to Shane Carwin's twitter:

I just heard from Jason. Looks like it is postponed till Jan 2. I had h1ni myself and I understand how devastating it can be.

If you read my comment on Zak's post about Lesnar unable to fight then you know I agree with this move.  It also provides the UFC with their New Year's headliner and some insurance with the Anderson Silva situation.

Ultimately this worked out quite well for the UFC though UFC 106 has taken a serious hit.

I also think this is third time a twitter post from Carwin has broke news.

[Update: Note by Zak Woods, 10/26/09 6:05 PM EDT ]

Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin II will take the place of Lesnar vs. Carwin as the main event of UFC 106. Look for a new co-main event bout to be announced later.

Next move will likely be to move Fitch vs Alves back to 106 as the co-main event.

I am not sure that would be a big enough main event.

Nog vs. dos Santos could work…
