Toughill Withdraws from Nov. 7 Fight against Marloes Coenen

According to MMAWeekly:

A Nov. 7 fight that was bound to determine a contender to Strikeforce 145-pound women’s champion Cris "Cyborg" Santos is off.

Sources informed MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday that the showdown between Erin Toughill (10-2-1) and Marloes Coenen (16-3), scheduled for the undercard of Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers, is off the card.

Toughill had to withdraw due to an undisclosed medical condition.

This fight was a good idea determine a number one contender as it could have got aired on CBS and help promote another female fighter.  Curious to see if they fill Toughill with another fighter or move the fight.

[Update: Note by Zak Woods, 10/28/09 11:04 AM EDT ]

Sarah Kaufman vs. Takayo Hashi for Strikeforce Challenger event this November was canceled earlier this week, though no reason was given. We could see either Kaufman or Hashi could step in to fight Marloes Coenen.

[Update #2: Note by Zak Woods, 10/29/09 12:30 PM EDT ]

Roxanne Modafferi (13-4) will step in for Erin Toughill to fight Marloes Coenen on November 7th.
