Thiago Alves withdraws from UFC 107 fight against Jon Fitch
More injury news for the UFC.
FiveOuncesofPain is reporting that Thiago Alves has withdrawn from his UFC 107 fight against Jon Fitch due to an undisclosed injury.
Originally Jon Fitch and Thiago Alves were not scheduled to fight one another. Fitch was going to fight former middleweight fighter, Ricardo Almeida while Thiago Alves was suppose to fight Paulo Thiago. But an injury to Almeida forced Ricardo out and Thiago Alves stepped in.
Don't look for Paulo Thiago to replace Thiago Alves. Jon Fitch already fought, and defeated, Paulo Thiago at UFC 100.
With Thiago Alves going down to the injury bug one has to wonder what did the UFC do to offend karma? It seems that every major fight the UFC has scheduled for this winter has been put off due to an injury, an illness or a bout of temporary insanity called filming a movie.
Back in September WKR thought that the UFC's fourth quarter scheduled had lost much of its shine. That was before Carwin vs. Lesnar was moved to January and now UFC 107 takes another hit.
Dana White and the Fertitta's need to try some voodoo in order to help Zuffa get out of this funk.

Josh Gross says not so fast on Alves being out of 107.

Alves has a torn PCL but it probably won't require surgery.
