'Delusional' Dan Hardy Gives Mike Swick a Trophy

You have to give Mike Swick and Dan Hardy credit. For a fight that was put together due to injuries they are doing their best to sell the fight.

Earlier this week Mike Swick talked to Cage Writer where he had some strong words for Dan Hardy,

He's not trash-talking, but he's completely delusional and disrespectful, and he's not giving me any credit for my career," Swick told Cagewriter. "For him to come on board with three fights in the UFC, two of which the judges said he lost, and act like he deserves a title shot, and act like he's going to smash me, and act like he's got a better arsenal than I do, and act like he's better than me everywhere, is ridiculously delusional and I can't wait to prove him wrong."

So Dan Hardy is delusional. I wonder if Swick will change his opinion after Dan Hardy presented Mike with a 'runner-up' trophy at the UFC 105 press conference (pictured above),

Dan Hardy drew laughter at the conference with a gag gift to Swick.

"I actually got Mike a bit something so he didn't leave England empty handed and just something to remember his journey by," Hardy said during his opening statement. "I got a runner-up trophy, just so he didn't leave empty handed. I'm going to be busy after the fight answering questions and sorting out a gameplan for Georges St-Pierre."

Swick laughed off the gesture.

"I want to thank Dan Hardy for this trophy," Swick said. "It means a lot Coming runner-up in a press conference is pretty cool, but I just want everyone to know I'm going to give it right back to him after our fight. My corner guys will carry this to the Octagon, but I'll keep this for now."

I wonder what Swick will give Hardy if he win?

I am going to bet on a snow globe.

Heh-heh

Pretty neat back-and-forth with these two. Making the best of their situation.

I actually think this fight could be a pretty good scrap if both of them go in realizing they have to make a huge statement to take steam into their shot at Rush.

I’m clearly trying to be optimistic here.

I wouldn’t mind if Hardy tripped and fell on his way in, but that’s just me.
