UFC 105 goes head-to-head Pacquiao vs. Cotto

Part of the reason why Zuffa is offering UFC 105 for free --other than the fact that UFC 106 is next weekend-- is that any UFC product would be going head-to-head with boxing's reigning pound-for-pound king, Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao faces off against Miguel Cotto in a fight that promoter Bob Arum (you may remember him) expects to do a million pay-per view buys.

The last time the UFC went head-to-head with a mega boxing event was UFC 103, where they lost the pay-per view battle to Floyd Mayweather Jr. by anywhere between 600,000-1,200,000 buys.

It will be interesting to see if the Pacquiao-Cotto fight affects UFC 105 ratings.
