Jamie Varner vs. Ben Henderson Announced for January

A World Extreme Cagefighting lightweight title unification bout has been scheduled for January 10th in Sacramento, California.
Current WEC lightweight champion, Jamie Varner (16-2-2), will face off against interim champ, Ben Henderson (10-1) at WEC 46.
Ben Henderson recently defeated Donald Cerrone for the interim lightweight title in an exciting, albeit, controversial decision at WEC 43. Initially there was doubt that Ben Henderson would be able to fight Varner as his left eye was also most completely closed after the Cerrone fight.
Ironically Donald Cerrone was the last opponent that Jamie Varner fought before being sideline by an injury. That injury was the catalyst for the creation of an interim title and allowed Henderson to fight Cerrone.
The WEC 46 card will also feature a featherweight bout between former champion Urijah Faber and Raphael Assuncao.
