Wanderlei Silva vs. Michael Bisping at UFC 110?
There may be a change for UFC 110's main event.
A new report from Fighter's Only states that Michael Bisping, not Yoshihiro Akiyama, will fight Wanderlei Silva at UFC 110 in Sydney, Australia.
Wanderlei Silva's next fight will be with Michael Bisping, a well-placed Las Vegas source has told Fighters Only. The fight may headline the UFC's first event in Australia, which takes place in February 2010.
Verbal agreements for the clash have been given, although Fighters Only understands that bout agreements are not yet drawn up. The fight will not be official until these are signed and returned by both men.
Michael Bisping and Wanderlei Silva were suppose to fight at UFC 105 but Silva was sidelined due facial surgery. Michael Bisping went on to fight and defeat Denis Kang at UFC 105.
So is this the UFC fulfilling a fight that they originally wanted or is Akiyama unable to fight?
Dana White hinted at a possible change in opponents during the run-up to UFC 106. Though Akiyama told MMA Fanhouse that he was "grateful" for the upcoming fight against Wanderlei Silva.
I guess that means the UFC really wants Wanderlei vs. Bisping.

they are really shoving bisping down our throats. i think dana and joe think bisping can beat wandy and thus get a big name on his record so they can justify him getting a title shot.
