Brock Lesnar not fighting at UFC 108 (Update)
Heavy.com reports that Brock Lesnar will not be able to fight at UFC 108,
Sources close to Brock Lesnar's camp informed Heavy.com tonight that Lesnar will not be able to participate in the postponed main event of UFC 108 against Shane Carwin.
Lesnar has battled an undisclosed illness for the past month that forced him to withdraw from a scheduled title defense against Carwin at UFC 106. The bout was rescheduled for UFC 108, but Heavy.com learned earlier this week that Lesnar has not recovered from the illness and cannot train at even a moderate page without quickly becoming exhausted.
Update #2: Kevin Iole reports that Brock Lesnar has mononucleosis, otherwise known as "mono" or "the kissing disease". I wonder who Lesnar kissed?
Update: This news comes immediately off the heels of the Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira-Cain Velasquez fight announcement.
Clearly the UFC is dealing with a chronic injury problem, which is affecting the main events of their pay-per view cards. The addition of Nogueira vs. Velasquez to UFC 108 is an attempt to bolster the traditional end of the year, which, as of this moment, is without a championship bout.
Kid Nate wonders if Nogueira vs. Velasquez could be for an interim heavyweight title.
Looking over the rumored fight card for UFC 108 and it is quite the disappointment when compared to last year's mega-event.
- Cain Velasquez vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
- Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva
- Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
- Carlos Condit vs. Paul Daley
- Tyson Griffin vs. Jim Miller
- Martin Kampmann vs. Rory Markham
- Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout
- Dan Lauzon vs. Cole Miller
- Ryan Jensen vs. Mark Munoz
- Jake Ellenberger vs. Mike Pyle

Well whenever the fight takes place I will be watching, I just want to see Brock fighting again, it seems like forever since he beat Frank Mir….
