Mirko Filipovic vs. Ben Rothwell in Australia?

A heavyweight bout between Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and Ben Rothwell is in the works for the UFC's debut Australian event.

The UFC has yet to announce their intentions to expand "down under" though it has been reported that Zuffa booked the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia for February 21st.

Typically when the UFC prepares an international show they look for international stars. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic (25-7-2) certainly fits that bill despite his recent Octagon struggles. In Filipovic's last fight --against Junior dos Santos at UFC 103-- Filipovic looked like an over-the-hill fighter. After the one sided loss many observers wondered if "Cro Cop" would retire. However, Filipovic's international standing as a former Pride and K-1 fighter appears to have bought him another fight within the UFC. 

Ben Rothwell (30-7) is a former IFL heavyweight standout and Affliction fighter who made his Octagon debut at UFC 104. Unfortunately for Rothwell he was matched against Cain Velasquez. Rothwell dropped his first UFC fight and will be looking to rebound with a win over a once great heavyweight fighter.
