Strikeforce Monday Morning Pick Roast

What happens to all those bad pick segments?

This is a question that has been bugging WKR for some time. Writers and pundits often make horrible predictions yet no one holds them accountable (except for our readers, of course). The bloated size of the Internet often allows us to hide our mistakes behind the ether of electrons and photons, but not here at WKR.

We are introducing a new feature we are calling Monday Morning Pick Roast where we will recap our major event Picks Segment FJM-style. Our observant readers will notice that our first edition is already a day late which we wouldn't have any other way. But the point of this feature is to allow our readers to see our horrible mistakes in bold helvetica font.

Star-divide

 Zak is up first.

I think Brett Rogers may try to bull rush Fedor in the first seconds of the fight like he did to Andrei Arlovksi.

Wrong.

Fedor could land a flush knockout punch, as he did against Arlovksi and Sylvia, but I think a clinch followed by a sweep is more likely.

That first part was right!

On the ground the fight clearly favors Emelianenko and MMA fans have yet to see what kind of a ground game Rogers posses.

Rogers' ground game isn't that bad.

I believe Fedor finishes the fight on ground. Fedor via arm bar Round 1.

Wrong.

One fighter is a Cesar Gracie black belt while other is a host of a reality show on MTV and wears chinchilla coats. I'll take the first one. Shields via submission Round 2.

................... *snore* ................*snore*.................. What? Oh, I guess I feel asleep. Wasn't something important happening? Guess not. Back to sleepy time.

Unless Sokoudjou can land a power punch knockout in the first minute (like he did in Pride, twice) this fight is Mousasi's to lose. If Gegard makes it through the first ninety seconds then Sokoudjou will tire and be susceptible to a submission in a later round. Mousasi via submission Round 2.

WKR is beginning the "Save Sokoudjou's Cardiovascular System" fund. For just two dollars a month you can help our top notch researchers as we try to find a cure for this horrible disease. Don't be an ass hole, donate your money now to 1-888-Sav-Soko.

Werdum is a top grappler and I am loathe to pick Silva who is returning to the U.S. for the first time since testing positive for steroids in 2008. I mean, could  you pick Roger Clemens, Shawne Merriman or any other known steroid user? I think not. Werdum via Unanimous Decision.

HAHAHAHA! Take that you steroid user! Now I am going to hold a grudge and refuse to vote for you to get into the hall of fame because I am the worst kind of evil: a prickly eighty year old baseball writer. Muhahaha!
