Frank Mir Drops and Submits Cheick Kongo

Frank Mir said that he would stand and trade with Cheick Kongo. While many observers felt this was a smoke screen (or career suicide) Mir lived up to his word, rocking Kongo with a heavy left hand that dropped the Frenchman. 

Mir followed the knockdown by securing a guillotine choke and submitting Kongo in just over a minute.

With this victory Frank Mir may have claimed a spot as the #3 heavyweight fighter in MMA and he made his desire to fight Brock Lesnar known to the Memphis crowd.
