Down Goes Rory Markham! (Update)
Another UFC 108 fighter has been bitten with the injury bug.
Rory Markham has been forced to withdraw from his preliminary bout with Martin Kampmann due to an injury.
MMA Weekly talked to Markham about the injury,
Markham told MMAWeekly on Saturday evening that he pulled his achilles tendon last month during wrestling practice and re-aggravated it Wednesday. He consulted with a doctor who told him there was a good chance he could tear the tendon and be out of action for up to a year.
"Not to mention, I couldn't walk up stairs," Markham wrote via text message.
There is no word about a possible replacement for Markham but it is believed that Kampmann will remain on the card.
UFC 108 has been hit with so many injuries WKR is beginning to believe that we aren't dealing with a normal jinx or hex but rather a full on Voldemort cursing the Defense Against the Dark Arts post situation. Just look at the butcher's bill of injured fighters.
That has to be some serious dark magic, right?
Update: Jacob Volkmann will replace Rory Markham to fight Martin Kampmann at UFC 108.
