Frank Mir is Setting his Sights on Shane Carwin and Shane Doesn't Mind One Bit

"I am bored with these....fighters" via www.ftpbluff.com

Frank Mir may be borderline obsessed with Brock Lesnar but like any good addict Mir has moved on from the real stuff to the closet available thing. In this case that means calling out Shane Carwin instead of talking about the recovering Brock Lesnar.

In the post-fight interview Mir said that the pressure is now on Shane Carwin

Later Frank Mir went even further, saying

"Carwin is a phenomenal match-up, and I think if I can't fight Brock again to show that I've made improvements against that style, I think Shane Carwin is a more than an ample substitution. If anything, I think he's a better version."

So what does Shane Carwin think about all the attention the former champion is giving him?

Well, Shane Carwin is more than game to fight Frank Mir,

The main question I am getting is would I fight Frank? The answer is easy YES. I am not a fighter who decides who he fights, I fight who I am told to fight. I like it that way, I am not trying to build a legacy I am trying to fight the best fighters in the World and determine where I fit in. Mir is a Multiple time Champion, who has been counted out more then Mike Tyson to only find himself right back at the top. He is a LEGEND of the sport and I would be honored to fight him.

Interim title fight here we come!

Personally, I think I’d more more interested in Mir v. Carwin than Mir v. Lesnar or Lesner v. Carwin. I hate the thought of Carwin losing his title shot due to Lesner being ill, but it would be a good step up in competition for Carwin and nice test for Mir to see how he does against such a massive man.

yeah, I talked about it on the podcast. If I was in Carwin’s position I would make damn sure that I could cash in on the title shot

Carwin lost me when he referred to Mir as a “Legend”.

Has everyone completely forgotten about Junior Dos Santos? If he gets past Yvel, I’d love to hear how Mir with one victory leapfrogs all that he’s accomplished.
