Trevor Prangley Injured, Robbie Lawler Opponent-less Again

No more Trevor Prangley...

No more Trevor Prangley...

Sherdog is reporting that Trevor Prangley suffered an injury while training for his fight with Robbie Lawler. As a result of the undisclosed injury Prangley has withdrawn from his Strikeforce: Evolution bout.

Prangley originally replaced the injured Benji Radach. Lawler is still expected to fight this Saturday.

Strikeforce may tap the newly signed Melvin Manhoef to replace Trevor. Manhoef was initially considered as a replacement for Radach.

Manhoef vs Lawler is one of my dream fights, but isn’t Melvin supposed to fight on NYE in Japan.

I don’t think Manhoef would really care if he fights twice in a month. Doesn’t seem like the type to care. He was not in the few fights that were announced for Dynamite yesterday…

If that fight happens it seems like bad news for Lawler, he will get knocked out by Manhoef in about a minute…

lol….I think you’re underestimating Robbie’s punching power and not realizing Melvin doesn’t exactly have a Takanori Gomi type chin.

I am not underestimating Lawler’s power at all. I just think that Lawler has not faced a puncher as aggressive as Manhoef in his career, and will likely get caught because he will want to exchange. Manhoef on the other hand has seen a lot of punches in his days, and will not exactly be scared by anything Lawler sends his way. I think Manhoef is too fast and aggressive for Lawler to handle. Also, Manhoef hasn’t been KOed in MMA in more than 5 years. Being KOed by Remy Bonjaski is not really a knock on anybody….

that fight would be unreal. if that fight comes to happen we are looking at a highlight event. not the best well rounded fighters, but you know the cung le/smith and potential lawler/manhoef would be exciting

really like melvin vs lawler. lawler would actually have the edge on the ground which will be amazing to say the least.

melvin will jump at the opportunity i bet. he’d fight every weekend if he could.
