K.J. Noons Signs with Strikeforce
Back when we last talked to former EliteXC lightweight champion, K.J. Noons, he had just parted ways with his agent, Mark Dion, and was optimistic about signing with a new MMA organization. That was back in May.
Six months later and Noons has finally landed a new contract. Sherdog is reporting that Noons has signed with Strikeforce and will be available to fight on Strikeforce: Evolution though it is far more likely that Noons will fight on Strikeforce's January card.
K.J. Noons rose to prominence in EliteXC when he defeated Nick Diaz for the organization's lightweight title. After that victory Noons fell into a lengthy dispute with EliteXC over monetary compensation, promotion and future opponents (he didn't want to fight Nick Diaz) and was subsequently stripped of his title.
Some time out of the cage and some humbling experiences in the boxing ring seems to have tempered Noons as he reportedly wants to fight Nick Diaz.
Can Strikeforce entice Diaz out of his apathetic stupor to fight Noons? WKR certainly hopes so.

Great to see him back in MMA but I doubt he’s finished with boxing. He can always do both I guess.
And I doubt you’ll see a Noons/Diaz rematch considering Nick has been fighting around 180lbs. his last couple fights.
Maybe some sort of a catchweight fight at 165 or something, but I would guess KJ will be headlining some of those Challengers events in the future.
