Renzo Gracie Headed to the UFC

I guess it is signing Wednesday (this is our third signing story today, sheesh!)

MMA Weekly is reporting that Renzo Gracie (13-6-1) has signed with the UFC.

Renzo Gracie is forty-two years old and is a member of the legendary Gracie Jiu-Jitsu clan. Renzo hasn't fought since 2007 where he defeated Frank Shamrock via disqualification (impressive) at EliteXC: Destiny. Gracie also fought for the IFL and Pride.

The big question MMA fans will be asking themselves is whether or not this signing by the UFC means that the earlier rumors of a Hughes-Gracie fight for UFC 112 were true? Who knows, but it can't be a coincidence that just yesterday Matt Hughes posted a message on his blog mentioning a future fight date and that he is just waiting for confirmation on his opponent and today Gracie signs withe Zuffa.

For what it is worth when the initial rumor appeared Gracie denied the report of him possibly fighting Hughes in February and hinted at something coming down the pipeline. I guess we know now.
