Stikeforce in Miami is Fantastic

4201512255_1d685c3731_medium

Don't look now but Strikeforce is suddenly putting on exciting shows with meaningful fights and not nine months apart.

The next Strikeforce card takes place in Miami on January 30th and features two title fights. Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos will defend her belt against Marloes Coenen in the main event. WKR is absolutely in love with top-tier female MMA and cannot wait to see Cyborg in action again just as long as that means she passes on Playboy....

Then there is the previously announced co-main event fight; a Strikeforce welterweight title fight between Marius Zaromskis and Nick Diaz. Marius broke onto the scene after winning the Dream welterweight title after winning the promotion's inaugural welterweight tournament. Plus he has some pretty sweet highlight reels. But this fight really represents the beginning of cross promotion between Dream and Strikeforce WKR is fascinated to see how the two promotions champions fare in title fights.

Also, Jay Hieron could fight Joe Riggs in a welterweight number one contender bout and you know Hieron will fight like an animal after being promised a title shot against Nick Diaz and then being skipped over. Robbie Lawler will most likely fight Melvin Manhoef. If Cung Le is right and fans want to see stand-up brawls then I count four on the fight card so far.

This being MMA we need some gimmicks and that is exactly what Hershel Walker and Bobby Lashley are. Neither of these fighters have an opponent yet but it will be interesting to see what Strikeforce does with them.

Rumored card after the jump.

Uhh...

Marloes Coenen looks like she’s posing in that picture as a goof. Good luck, young lady.

And top to bottom, this card looks interesting.

Should be some fun fights.

And that lighting makes Cyborg look like an “Independant Security Contractor.”

Marloes does too, but she looks like she still has ties to her small but noble homeland’s embassy.
