Strikeforce: Evolution Ratings

"Rockstar-licious!"

The ratings for Strikeforce's Showtime event are now available

Strikeforce: Evolution averaged 341,000 viewers. That is 25,000 less than Shamrock vs. Diaz drew in back in April of 2009 and 235,000 fewer viewers than Carano vs. Cyborg.

Showtime is only available to 12 million households though the network did set their all-time ratings record with the season finale of Dexter, which averaged 2.5 million viewers.

what i wanna know is...

whether that many more people tuned in to watch the Carano-Cyborg card because…

a) First-ever women’s title.
b) Gina is hot.
c) Or they were like me and just wanted to see Gegard fight.

What’s interesting about the numbers is how many more viewers tuned into watch Gina Carano than this last event, but the attendance numbers for the last event were bigger than the Carano/Cyborg event.

I guess what it means is Cung Le really isn’t much of a draw outside of San Jose and his loss isn’t nearly as big of a deal to Strikeforce as some have made it out to be.
Gina Carano is more valuable than Cung Le IMO.
