WKR's Best Performances of 2009
Nick Becker: Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin
In making his opponent look like an amateur, "The Spider" solidified his standing as the top P4P fighter in the world with his utter destruction of the #5 ranked light-heavyweight in the world. Silva looked like some kind of Brazilian Neo from The Matrix out there, effortlessly dodging and weaving out of the way of Griffin's strikes before countering with pinpoint accuracy. Oh, and the fade-away jab knockout to end the fight? Classic.
By the way, if there's someone out there who doesn't want to see Silva fight Fedor at some point in the future; show yourself because I'd like to punch you in the mouth.
Zach Krantz: Jose Aldo vs. Mike Brown

Aldo had the hype, but was still a small underdog going into the fight. Brown was riding a 10 fight win streak and had beat Faber twice. Aldo absolutely destroyed Brown. He was better on the feet and controlled him on the mat. Flat out phenomenal.
Zak Woods: Brian Bowles vs. Miguel Torres

Similar to Shogun vs. Machida, Bowles vs. Torres was another fight between a seemingly unbeatable champion and a stout contender. Bowles succeeded where Shogun failed handing Torres his first knockout loss.

I give the edge to Silva. The reason being is that I thought Forrest actually had a chance and I figured Aldo would beat Brown.
