Report: Miguel Torres vs. Joseph Benavidez for WEC 47 in Columbus, Ohio

MMA Mania is reporting that a fight between former WEC bantamweight champion, Miguel Torres, and Joseph Benavidez is in the works for WEC 47 in Columbus, Ohio.

Miguel Torres has yet to fight since losing his title to Brian Bowles at WEC 42 but that didn't stop Torres from hinting at a possible fight against the winner of Benavidez-Yahah on his twitter account during WEC 45. MiguelTorres even joined the WEC broadcast crew during the fight, which Benavidez ended up defeating Rani Yahah. In the aftermath of the fight Joseph was asked about a possible fight with Torres, to which Benavidez responded, "Hey, you know, I am here to fight the best in the world and that is what Miguel is."

WEC 47 will mark the first time the WEC will hold an event in Ohio. The card is scheduled for March 6th in the Nationwide Arena. The event will coincide with the popular Arnold Sports Festival, which the UFC has tapped into in the three previous years.

Brian Bowles will defend his newly obtained WEC bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz in the main event. WEC fan favorite Jens Pulver is also scheduled to fight on the card.
