Riggs vs. Hieron Slated for Strikeforce in Miami

Before we go out to celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of a new one there is one more bit of news we need to pass along.

MMA Junkie is confirming the previously reported rumor that Joe Riggs vs. Jay Hieron is in the works for Strikeforce in Miami. Hieron was originally promised a title fight against Nick Diaz but that offer was rescinded as Diaz is fighting Dream welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis on the Miami fight card.

Joe Riggs hasn't fought for Strikeforce since he defeated Phil Baroni at Strikeforce: Shields vs. Lawler. Riggs did recently partake in two local fight cards seven days apart where he defeated David Barnes and Nick Almen in a combined two minutes and forty-eight seconds.
